What is Mosets Tree?
Mosets Tree is a directory component for the Joomla CMS web system. You can add it to almost any type of site. It can be used for classifieds, property, business directory, web directory or download site to name but a few uses.
Configurable:
Mosets Tree is easily configured to suit any type of site. In the backend there is Extra Fields this can be used for many types of fields, text fields, check boxes, radio buttons also file and image uploads. You can have different fields for different types of categories.
Layout:
Mosets Tree can be used with any Joomla template or to your existing site without having to get a new template made. The new Mosets Tree for Joomla 1.7 comes with two built in layout templates M2 and Kinabalu. Kinabalu has 8 different layouts for your details page so the options are easy to change. The default terms are easily changed by altering the language file. For instance "Add your listing here" can quite easily changed to "Post an Ad" just by altering a text file.
Support:
Support is via a forum. By other users and by Mosets developers. You have a personal support "Mosets Priority Support "section when you are logged in which is private and you get fast support from the developers.
Our Review.
We have tested Mosets Tree and found it easy to use. When you first install it via your Joomla admin it installs as a Web Directory with several categories installed. We have run it on Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.7 and it is quite easy to change it to any type of directory powered site you want.
Mosets Tree can be used as a stand alone directory or as part of a site. For example your home town site with Mosets Tree as the local business directory.
With Mosets Tree you have maps, image upload, file upload built in, you can turn fields on or off to suit your needs. adding a new field is easy with several types already built in. This makes it easy to configure to your type of site.
It also comes with plenty of modules, latest listing, latest featured and category tree just to name a few. Depending on the Joomla template you are using you can publish these to numerous positions on your site.
Building your directory is easy with the Add Category in the admin side. Name your Category then add text and meta description and meta tags. Also an icon can be added to the category.
We found support excellent our problem took a few days to sort, but this was due to time zone difference between us and the developers. They solved our problem and told us what they had done to fix it.
The only thing we found that we did not like was Mosets Tree does not have a payment system although there are 3rd party add-ons for this.
Price is quite expensive at first look $119 but the licence terms make this a cheap directory component if you are build more than one directory. For your $119 you get one years updates and personal support.

We have asked Lee at Mosets a few questions here are his answers:
Is a payment system planned in the near future?
We don't have anything planned for this in the near future, the main reason being focusing our effort on building MT as a solid directory system. We do however have intention to support third party payment system by providing hooks and plugins for easier integration in the future.
Are Google street view maps planned?
We have not had much request for this, so no.
We have not tried it but can you add video to a listing for instance a YouTube video?
Yes. We have an Online Video field type where you can enter a Youtube URL and have the video shown on your listing page.
Do you plan to make the Availability Calendar useable in Mosets Tree?
Yes.
Mosets Tree is an excellent component already but what do you see for the future of Mosets Tree. Do you have any major updates planned?
I am currently working on a major update to be released for Joomla 2.5. This is going to be a big update and one of the major improvement is the ability to have 2 or more directories on a single Mosets Tree installation. This has been one of the major request from our users and I'm very excited about this as it opens up a whole new set of possibilities and use case with Mosets Tree.
