COATESVILLE – Chester County Recorder will begin offering Military Discharge Document Registration and Chester County Veteran ID Card Production and the # 287 Veterans Rebate Program foreign wars in Coatesville at the end of the month. None of these services are billed.
Starting at 1 p.m. on July 29, veterans and guests will be able to shop at a community flea market or garage sale at the VFW parking lot in Coatesville before exploring the facilities and enjoying the military dump. Recorder of Deeds and Chester County Veteran Identity Card and remission programs without having to go to the Chester County government office.
If a fire, natural disaster, move or other event results in the loss of the original documents, the recorder will retain its image in perpetuity, so that veterans and their families can easily request certified replacement copies from our office at a later date for Veteran Status or Benefits. Veterans who resided in another county or state at the time of release may have their DD-214 registered in that county or state, however, it is recommended that the veteran also register the DD-214 in the county where they currently reside. .
Veterans who register their discharge documents on-site will then be eligible to immediately receive a county-issued photo ID card, free of charge. A collection of approximately 100 Chester County businesses are partnering with the Recorder of Deeds to provide various discounts and specials to veterans who present their County ID card at the time of purchase or services rendered.
