STARKVILLE, Miss.—More than 40 Mississippi State University Alumni Association chapters and clubs will host summer parties for new MSU students July 21-August 21. 5.
Now in its 17th year, this MSU tradition allows freshmen and transfer students and their families to meet alumni, friends, and current students to learn more about college life. Events also serve as a networking tool, allowing attendees to make meaningful connections with other Bulldogs near their hometown.
This year’s send-off parties will welcome new Bulldogs from all over Mississippi, as well as 11 other states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Students and their families are invited to attend the send-off party in their local county or out of state.
“We look forward to welcoming these new students to the MSU family,” said Jeff Davis, executive director of the MSU Alumni Association. “The end-of-year celebrations provide an opportunity to connect new students and their parents with each other and with former students in their region. Students can come to MSU with peace of mind knowing they have a community that will support them through every step of their new college journey.
